Keyword Research Services – Can They Save You Time And Money?
I struggle with keyword research. Maybe you also do? I can find keywords all day long. Most of what I find are useless though.
When I used Google’s keyword tool I trusted the results 100%. I mean, they wouldn’t be telling fibs about their data, would they? Well, that’s not always the case.
The data returned isn’t accurate. It would have been correct at some point though. I accidentally discovered the answer to that puzzle.
I homed in on a key phrase with roughly 5000 competing websites. I was feeling confident enough to rank well with this one. So I set out putting articles out. Lots of articles.
It didn’t take long to notice there were now over 9000 competing sites. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I started to think thinks weren’t going to be easy as I thought. Turned out though that an awful lot of the extra competing pages had my articles on them!
My point being is that I’d have swerved this keyword if I had seen nine thousand competitors. A lot of these sites were ranking with my article so I had a lot of competition but most of it was my own articles. A nice situation to be in!
Anyway, I decided to give a keyword research service a try as I couldn’t count on getting lucky every time. I liked the idea of good keywords being delivered to me every day. I calculated the cost of these services and concluded that they were value for money.
Travis Sago was offering a keyword research service which I decided to try. Travis being at the top of the bum marketing pile. Bum marketing only costs my time so it’s my kind of marketing.
If I can get a keyword or two in my in box each day then that saves me valuable time. At least a two hour saving. Two hours or so to me is quite valuable. Put that couples hours saved against the daily cost and it adds up to value.
Outsourcing, outsourcing, outsourcing. Seems to be all you hear from the gurus of internet marketing. I reckon there’s not much difference here. I’m giving my keyword research to someone else to do. That’s outsourcing.
